PURPOSE:To obtain a material to be recorded for ink jet recording excellent in ink receptivity and imparting a sharp image, by providing an ink pervious layer comprising a fine particle layer on the ink holding layer on a substrate and further applying a powder thereto. CONSTITUTION:An ink holding layer comprising a hydrophilic material copable of absorbing aqueous ink is provided on a substrate with a thickness of about 10-200mum such as paper, cloth, a metal plate or a resin film. As the hydrophilic material, albumin, starch or polyamide are used and, if necessary, latex is used together. The thickness of the ink protective layer is pref. about 0.5-30mum. A thin layer comprising fine particles made of a polymer of which the hydrophilicity is equal or inferior to the ink layer, for example, a vinyl polymer or synthetic rubber is formed to the ink layer in a thickness of about 10mum or less. A fine powder with a particle size of 20mum or like such as a silica or clay is applied to the ink pervious layer in a ratio of about 0.01-1.0g/m<2>. |
