PURPOSE:To assure generation of higher cell voltage as well as the cost down of a fuel cell generation plant and an argon gas manufacturing plant by combining both the plants. CONSTITUTION:A composite plant consists of a fuel cell 21, a stock gas producing system 22, a gas separator unit 27 for feeding high purity oxygen including argon to a fuel cell cathode, a combustion unit 29 for non-reaction gas, and a cooler 30 disposed on the downstream side of the combustion unit for providing argon gas. The air filtrated in its duct through an air filter 25 is increased in its pressure in an air compressor 26, and guided to a PSA (pressure swing adsorption) for gas separator unit 27 to yield high purity, high concentration argon and oxygen by the action of an adsorbing agent contained in the unit 27, which gases are fed to an air electrode 21b. The argon gas being inactive is discharged and stored via the condensor 30. Hereby, cell voltage is increased and the cost being required is reduced by employing both the plants unlike the use of only one plant. |
