PURPOSE:To position a flaw detecting probe stably and to make it possible to withdraw the probe instantaneously from the surface of a metal rod, by contacting a fluid pressure cylinder device, whose expanding and contacting end is coupled with the holding arm of the flaw detecting probe, with a cam surface, and positioning said device. CONSTITUTION:A scale is provided between a cam body 4 and a rotary body. The cam body 4 is rotated in alignment with, e.g., a scale display 10, and stopped by a screw under the state the cam body 4 is set at the opening limit. Then a gap is hardly present between a flaw detecting probe 8 and a metal rod after the start of operation. When the cam body 4 is rotated to a certain position and stopped by a screw and air is supplied through a hole 15, a fluid cylinder 9 is extended and a flaw detecting arm 6 is turned with a pin 7 as a center. A roller 12 of an extended part 11 is contacted with a cam surface 5. Based on the contact part 12 and the cam surface 5, the arm 6 is positioned. Even if centrifugal force acts on the arm 6 due to the high speed rotation of a rotary body 1, the arm 6 is fixed. Meanwhile, when air feeding is stopped or pressure is reduced, the arm 6 is instantaneously inclined, and the tip of the probe 8 is separated from the metal rod and can be isolated therefrom. |
