A mixture of 20-92 parts by weight of a monoalkenyl aromatic monomer or a mixture thereof with one or more monomers copolymerizable therewith, 80-8 parts by weight (as solids) of a latex of an elastomeric polymer of a conjugated diene in which the average particle diameter of the latex particles is at least 0À15 Á, and a free-radical generator is polymerized to a solids content of at least 55% by weight by a process wherein the emulsifier is added stepwise or continuously throughout the polymerization in such a way that the amount of emulsifier present at any one time is closely controlled. The resins produced can be mixed with vinyl chloride resins or styrene polymers. |
