The invention relates to a method of animating an image by which the spectators see a sequence of images which give the illusion of movement, as well as a device for implementing the method. The method is characterised in that a sequence of images 3 to 8 ... is laid out in a substantially statistical manner along a straight or curved line, the spectators are transported in front of the sequence of images, and each image is made visible one after the other substantially in synchronisation with the transporting of the spectators. The device comprises a sequence of images 3 to 8 ..., spectator transporting means 1, and means of making each image visible substantially in synchronisation with the transporting of the spectators.
