The present invention relates to an installation for the manufacture of parts consisting of wooden elements assembled together by press fitted connections, applicable especially to the manufacture of main trusses and beams for prefabricated frameworks. This installation is characterised in that the press comprises a vertical jack 13 mounted so as to move transversely on an upper cross-member 9 forming part of the frame of the press, the rod 13a of this ram, extending downwards, being securely fastened to a pressure foot 16, and means 14, 15 for moving the vertical ram 13 on the cross-member. <IMAGE>
