The production of a metal dental crown on a tooth supporting a clasp of a mobile prosthesis, may be performed with the technique hereinbelow in two sessions. It does not deprive the patient of his/her prosthesis; it does not lead to re-making of the prosthesis or of the section of the clasp. The originality of the technique consists in the order of the operations during the first session. After having withdrawn the mobile apparatus, taken the initial impression of the tooth before it is cut; packed the impression with a self-calcinable resin, and applied it onto the prepared tooth; the resin is sent to the laboratory, for casting in metal which will be sealed in the mouth during the second session. This concept of a prosthesis reconstructing a shape and a topography identical to the initial tooth has required a new word, not found in dictionaries, to be coined, namely an "isotopic crown". |
