Arrangement for automatic control of the excess air in a combustion

In a control system (40) which controls the excess air of a combustion as a function of the oxygen content of the exit gas by means of an oxygen sensor (34), the oxygen set value is adjusted by an auxiliary control system (50) with a carbon monoxide sensor (44) subjected to the exit gas to that value at which the formation of carbon monoxide in the combustion just about starts. As a result, complete combustion with little excess air and therefore with a high efficiency is achieved, even if interfering factors such as changes in the fuel quality and/or wear of the combustion device occur. <IMAGE>
