Powder stick and process for the production thereof

The powder stick according to the invention is produced by compacting a dry-prepared refill composition containing the pigment and a sinterable, preferably thermoplastic binder, within the stick shaft casing and subsequent controlled heat treatment of the compacted refill composition. During the heat treatment, the binder particles fuse onto restricted areas of the surface of the pigment particles and as a result, after cooling, are firmly incorporated into the refill structure. Since the pigment particles are not completely encased by the binder, the refill has a good ability to deliver the pigment. Because of the dry processing of the refill composition and the production of the refill in the shaft casing, no calibration problems result.
