A spraying device 18 is provided with an underframe 29 which can be moved by a guide 17. A rotary table 36 is mounted capable of rotation about a vertical axis 45 on the underframe 29. Suitable means 39-42 lock the rotary table 36 in a plurality of different positions on the underframe 29. A video camera 57 and a nozzle carrier 46 are mounted on the rotary table 36. The nozzle carrier 46 is arranged on the rotary table 36 in a manner capable of rotating about an axis 48 at right angles to the axis 45 of rotation of the rotary table 36, and is driven by a motor 51. Two pairs of nozzles 47, which have their spray opening directed radially with respect to the axis 48, are arranged in the nozzle carrier. Two rotating joints 50-55 are arranged between the nozzles 47 and a high-pressure hose 19. The cleaning system is suitable for cleaning U-type steam generators. <IMAGE>
