Laundry mangle

In a laundry mangle for the smoothing of moist laundry articles and having a plurality of mangle rollers, the moisture is measured in the region of the last mangle roller, as seen in the direction of run of the laundry. As a function of the moisture measured directly on the laundry article, the control successively throttles the quantity of air sucked off from the last mangle roller and thereafter from the respectively preceding mangle roller down to a minimum value when a sufficient degree of drying is measured. When an insufficient degree of drying is measured, the air is successively increased up to a predetermined maximum value in reverse order in the various mangle rollers.
