A device for feeding single sheets to the platen of an office machine has at least two magazines from which the single sheets are supplied, being selected and driven by the platen. The respective magazine is selected by selection mechanisms which are actuated in a sequence, which is predetermined for each magazine, of forward-backward rotary movements of the platen. A blocking device blocks the selection mechanisms during the printing operation so that the platen can be turned forwards and backwards as desired during the printing operation. When the sheet drawing-in cycle has been completed, a one-stop clutch or a feeler releases the blocking device again for the next selection operation.
