PRODUCTION OF POWDERED ESSENCE OF NONBITTER LIGHT

PURPOSE:beta-Cyclodextrin is added to Litchi extract and they are freeze-dried or spray-dried to give the titled essence powder which is used as a health food with almost no bitterness. CONSTITUTION:The Litchi extract containing beta-cyclodextrin is freeze-dried or spray-dried to give a Litchi essence powder with no bitterness. The Litchi extract containing beta-cyclodextrin is obtained by extracting Litchi powder with water or aqueous alcohol containing beta-cyclodextrin or adding beta-cyclodextrin to a Litchi extract. The amount of the beta-cyclodextrin is 1-90wt%, preferably 20-50wt% based on the Litchi extract powder. The resultant essence powder tastes no bitterness and can be readily administered, further it can be stored with high safety for a long period of time.
