<p>A device for welding metal components having a tubular cross-section, by means of a magnetic arc, which has at least two magnets having the same polarity that surround the weld path with their polar surfaces. In such an arrangement, the pole surfaces are very easily contaminated by the weld projection unit during the welding process. As a result of such contamination the path of the arc is adversely affected and the weld seam is impaired. To avoid such contamination, the pole surfaces (4) are provided with a protection ring (5) which covers them and has a inner surface (7) which is diagonal to and surrounds the weld path.</p> |
