PURPOSE:To obtain a dispersion for polymerization excellent in dispersibility and storage stability, by dispersing titanium oxide in an epsilon-caprolactam melt containing water with the aid of lithium metaphosphate of a low ignition loss as a dispersant. CONSTITUTION:Lithium metaphosphate having an ignition loss (observed when a mixture of 1g of lithium metaphosphate and 2g of zinc oxide is heated at 650 deg.C for 5hr in an electric furnace) <=16wt% is used as a dispersant. Namely, a stable dispersion is formed by mixing, with stirring, an epsilon-caprolactam melt with water in an amount necessary as a polymerization initiator (about 0.5-5wt% based on the lactam), titanium oxide and said dispersant in an amount of about 0.1-1wt% based on the titanium oxide. A dull poly-epsilon-capronamide can be obtained by polymerizing the above dispersion. |
