The invention relates to imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines and pyrazines of the general formula

wherein B is CH or N: and includes 2,3-dihydro-, 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-, 2,3,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-analogues and salts of such compounds. The invention also relates to processes for preparing such compounds and to pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The compounds are antisecretory and cytoprotective agents and a re particularly useful in the treatment of ulcer diseases. |
