[Also in Division B5] A flexible permeable laminate elastically extensible in the general plane of the laminate comprises a textile support elastic in two 'directions, a pre-formed porous intermediate layer of a plastics foam secured on this support and a porous skin coating of polyurethane applied over the intermediate layer when the composite intermediate layer and support are stretched in their own plane whereby the skin coating becomes creped when the laminate is allowed to relax, or when the composite intermediate layer and support layer are not stretched whereby the skin coating remains non-creped. The plastics foam may be secured on the support by glue. The plastics foam may be a polyester, polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride. In an embodiment a jersey of synthetic textile fabrics stretchable in two perpendicular directions is secured by means of a glue to a polyester foam on which a polyurethane is coated.</p> |
