1,272,232. Pressure-sensitive copying paper. WIGGINS TEAPE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd. 3 Dec., 1969 [24 Dec., 1968], No. 61358/68. Heading D2B. [Also in Division C1] A pressure-sensitive copying paper has a coating, capable of developing a colour-former to the coloured form, which includes particles of oil-absorptive, inorganic mineral material, the particles being individually coated, at least in part with an organic, acidic oil-soluble polymer (which term is taken to include dimers) containing uncombined phenolic hydroxyl groups. The polymer may be phenol/ formaldehyde or phenol/acetylene. The mineral material may be a natural or synthetic mineral, e.g. silicate, an alumino-silicate, silica, alumina or a silica/alumina mixture, or a natural mineral treated by a hydrothermal treatment, by calcination, by acid treatment, or by a combination of these. The colour-former may be of any suitable conventional type, and may be encapsulated. |
