PURPOSE:To safely continue the operation by applying a DC exciting current to an induction generator when the output from the generator is interrupted. CONSTITUTION:An energy recovered by a fluid head energy recover turbine 13 is converted by an induction generator 17 into electric power at normal time, then recovered as power through a switch 18 to a power recovery system 19, and activated as power to other drive device. When an electric defect occurs in the system 19 so that the transmission of the recovery power becomes impossible, a recovery system is automatically interrupted. When the system 19 is interrupted, the switch 18 is simultaneously opened, and a switch 20 is closed. Thus, a thyristor controller 21 applies a DC exciting current to the generator 17. Thus, the rotor of the generator 17 generates an eddy current in the rotor in a DC magnetic field to suppress the rotation of the rotor. |
