PURPOSE:To prevent the permeation of gas into a liq. crystal display element by sticking polarizing plates each using polyvinyl alcohol as a polarizer to the liq. crystal display element and by forming coating films of polyvinylidene chloride. CONSTITUTION:An electrically conductive transparent film 41 is formed on one side of a polyether sulfone film 39 having about 100mum thickness represented by the formula. A urethane type anchor coating agent 38 is applied to the other side and dried, and vinylidene chloride resin is applied and dried to form a gas barrier layer 37. A polarizing plate 33 using polyvinyl alcohol having low gas permeability as a polarizer 35 is stuck, and a urethane type anchor coating agent 32 is applied and dried. A coating film 31 of vinylidene chloride resin is then formed. Thus, a liq. crystal display element preventing the generation of bubbles and the deterioration of the polarizing plates for a long period is obtd. |
