PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous action and to facilitate handling by constituting such that a photodetecting part of a photodetector is covered with a liquid crystal shutter which can be freely opened and closed and the photodetector and a photoelectric cell can be cut off from disturbance light. CONSTITUTION:When an IC card is sufficiently inserted into a card insertion port of a card reader 11, a voltage is impressed to a voltage impression terminal 8 of a liquid crystal shutter of the IC card 21 through the card reader 11. The shutter 7 to which the voltage is impressed can pass light. Receiving light from a light source 12 of the card reader 11, a photoelectric cell 7 of the IC card 21 acts and generates electricity and impresses a voltage to each element in the IC card 21. In this state, the card reader 11 and the IC card 21 execute the transmission and reception of the information through respective interface parts. |
