PURPOSE:To enable quick visual discrimination of depth distribution of the sea bottom, by providing a means for discriminating the depth of the sea bottom and a display for indication in display colors corresponding to the sea bottom depth to change the display color according to the depth. CONSTITUTION:A reflected wave from the sea bottom B as received with a transmitter/receiver 1 is introduced to a beam scanner 2 and outputted as directional received beam, which is converted into a digital one with an A/D converter 3 and then, introduced to an input/output circuit 4 together with a bearing data indicating the directivity of the beam. A CPU15 writes the received wave signal data brought in from a circuit 4 into a detection memory 6 to discriminate the reflected wave with the highest level among received beam of varied bearings and sends out distance data to the sea bottom and direction data to a CPU2. After data from the CPU15 is written into a data memory 8, a CPU27 reads out the memorized data sequentially from the newest sea bottom topograph data to be written into a display memory 12 and thus, the sea bottom depth is displayed on a display 13 in a display color according to the depth. |
