PURPOSE:To prevent the cooling of a catalyst, to maintain the catalyst in the high temp. and to obtain the high purifying capacity in a waste gas purifier incorporated with the honeycomb catalyst therein by providing a heat insulating sheet to the side peripheral part of the catalyst together with a corrugaged wire gauze. CONSTITUTION:A honeycomb catalyst 1 molded in one body is supported by a cushioning body consisting of a multilayered wire gauze which is provided to the peripheral part thereof and the side peripheral part of the honeycomb catalyst is wound by a corrugated wire gauze 3 consisting of a two-layer wire gauze and a heat insulating sheet 4 is sandwiched between the two-layer corrugated wire gauzes. In the sandwiched structure sandwiching the heat insulating sheet between the corrugated wire gauzes, the groves basing on the corrugated parts which are formed in the slanted state in the lengthwise direction of the catalyst are flattened and one part of the grooves is closed by the heat insulating sheet so that it does not, form a leak path of waste gas. |
