PURPOSE:To provide efficient working conditions to original exchanging work or the like and to remove the shift of respective monochromatic pictures by forming a means for idling a picture carrier and a transfer material supporting body in the moving process from the transfer of one color picture to the transfer of the succeeding color picture. CONSTITUTION:Transfer paper 20 gripped by a gripper 241 is carried while being wound around a mesh screen 242 in accordance with the rotation of a rotary drum 24, and during the passage of the transfer paper 20 between a transfer charger 243 and a photosensitive drum 1, an yellow toner image on the drum 1 is transferred and the paper 20 is held on the surface of the screen 242 by electrostatic adsorption. During the period from the end of the transfer of the yellow toner image to the start of transfer of the succeeding Magenta toner image, the drum 1 is idled by 1.5 revolutions, a drum 24 is idled by 3 revolutions and a network positive original is replaced during the period. Also in the idling period, the transfer charger 243 is continuously driven and the transfer paper is electrostatically adsorbed to the surface of the screen 242, color shift is not generated. Thereafter, the succeeding color picture is transferred similarly. |
