<p>PURPOSE:To satisfy both long-and short-range performances while obtaining a super long-range performance to the limit of a radar capacity, by enabling simultaneous application of frequency modulation expanded pulse signals for long-and short-range uses. CONSTITUTION:Frequency modulation expanded pulse signals with the center frequencies f1-f2 and the pulse widths of tau1-tau2 made by transmission signal generators 10a-10b are turned to a synthetic signal with a synthesizer 13 and the synthetic signal thus obtained is sent to a switch 14 together with a frequency modulation expanded pulse signal with the center frequency f1 and the pulse width tau3 (tau3=tau1+tau2) made by a transmission signal generator 10c. The switch 14 selects any of pulse signals fed and the signal selected receives a signal from a local oscillator 8 to be radiated into the air through a frequency converter 3a, a circulator 2 and an antenna 1. Turned to a reflected wave after hitting a target, the signal is passed as received signal through the antenna 1 and a frequency modulator 3b of a receiving system 11 and sent to a signal processor 7 as IF signal through an IF amplifier 4, a distributor 12, pulse compression filters 5a-5c and detectors 6a-6c.</p> |
