PURPOSE:To prepare a high strength tubular body, for example, a fishing rod, by winding a nonwoven prepreg comprising whisker long fibers with a length of 3-8mm around a core and further winding a high strength fiber prepreg thereon to perform curing. CONSTITUTION:A nonwoven fabric comprising a whisker long fiber with a length of 3-8mm is impregnated with a thermosetting resin to form a prepreg A and a fabric or fiber arranged sheet comprising a high strength fiber such as a carbon fiber or glass fiber is impregnated with the thermosetting resin to prepare a prepreg B. Both prepregs are superposed and wound around a core so as to bring the prepreg A to the inside or the prepreg A is wound around the core and the prepreg B is wound thereon and, thereafter, the resin is cured to obtain a tubular body. Because the whisker long fiber is used, strength is high and, because said whisker fiber is arranged to the inside, polishing processing for splicing is also easy. |
