PRODUCTION OF ORIGINAL PLATE FOR PRINTING

PURPOSE:To obtain an original plate which provides sharp image quality, has excellent printing resistance and shelf stability and permits the development with an alkali soln. and handling in a bright room by coating a dispersion consisting of a photoconductive pigment dispersed in a binder resin and having a prescribed solid concn. and viscosity on a substrate then drying the same in <=50 deg.C atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:An alkali soluble resin (phenolic resin, acrylic resin, etc.) is dissolved in a solvent such as ethylene glycol monoethyl ether and the conductive pigment such as perylene is dispersed therein to prepare the dispersion having 10-30wt% total solid concn. and >=100cp viscosity. Such dispersion is coated on the substrate of the sand-grained and anodized aluminum sheet or the like and is dried in <=50 deg.C atmosphere to form the photoconductor layer to 2-10mu thickness. The original plate for printing which provides the sharp image quality, has the excellent printing resistance and shelf stability and permits the development with the aq. alkali soln. and handling in a bright room is thus obtd.
