<p>The alloy is composed of 20-45 wt % of a steel matrix of compn. 0.25-0.9% C, 5-18% Cr, 2-5% Mo, 0.3-3% Cu, 0.1-1.0% V, 0-3% Mn, 0-1% Si, 0-6% Co, 0-0.5% Nb, 0-0.01% B, 0-1.8% Ni, balance Fe, and 55-80 wt % carbides of the metals Cr, Mo, W, Ta, Nb, Zr, pref. Ti, or mixed carbides of these which are embedded in the steel matrix. Especially, for dies in extruders and presses, for motor and engine components, particularly gaskets in rotary piston engines, piston rings, also plungers and pistons in pumps, and similar components which rotate at elevated temp.</p> |
