<p>Filter elements are in parallel and at right angle to the airstream. They are charged direct with electric current and being in parallel there is a potential set up between them. The elements are either a metal netting or a nonconducting material with conducting metal plates interwoven or with conducting metallic coating deposited on the surface. The filter elements are relatively cheap and the pressure loss is small.</p>
