PURPOSE:To start quickly a test program by providing a main storage device of a system with the first table indicating the correspondence between individual peripheral devices and device types and the second table indicating the correspondence between device types and test programs and selecting both tables in accordance with the input of an operator. CONSTITUTION:A main storage device 2 is connected to a central processing unit 1 of a program selecting system and a channel controller 3. Peripheral devices 111-11n are connected to the controller 3 through peripheral controllers 101-10n. This main storage device 2 of the system is provided with the first table indicating the correspondence between device names of peripheral devices 111-11n and device types and the second table indicating the correspondence between device types and test programs. Contents of the first and the second table are searched in accordance with the peripheral device or channel number inputted by the operator to select the test programs corresponding to peripheral devices 111-11n by the controller 3, and thus, test programs are started quickly. |
