摘要 PURPOSE:To miniaturize the captioned mechanism as well as facilitate assembly work by providing a suspension device including a suspension release member communicated wit another suspension device interposed between a cam and an air intake/exhaust valve, and forming said suspension release member with a form storage alloy. CONSTITUTION:In interrupting a specific cylinder by stopping the operation of air intake/exhaust valve 10 of said cylinder in the case for example of an engine operated at low rpm under low load, with a switch 32 being switched on to conduct a current through an electric heater 31, a coil-shaped suspension member 30 is heated to restoration set temperature or more of a form storage aloy constituting said suspension member. Hereby, the suspension member 30 is elongated, and a check ball 24 is pushed left against a suspension release spring 34 and a check ball spring 25 for opening an orifice path 20. Thereupon, when a body 6 of a suspension mechanism 5 is pushed down by operation of a cam 2, pressure oil 8 is discharged via passage means 13 to 15 and a second hydraulic chamber 19, etc., and thus no displacement of the cam 2 is transmitted to the intake/exhaust valve 10 to result in the intake/exhaust valve 10 being made a non-operation state.
