PURPOSE:To enable a main spindle head to improve its positioning accuracy eliminating torsion, by supporting the main spindle head, mounted to a main beam, through an auxiliary beam in parallel to the main beam and a directly supporting block in end parts of the auxiliary beam so as to reduce a load to the main beam. CONSTITUTION:A connection member 25 in both ends of an auxiliary beam 24 is mounted on a supporting block 28 and directly supported by the supporting block 28. Accordingly, a load applied to the auxiliary beam 24 by a main spindle head 18 is prevented from being transmitted to a cross rail 16 being a main beam, and a supporting device, preventing the cross rail 16 from generating torsion while tumbling moment acting, improves machining accuracy. Next the device, when it changes a position of the cross rail 16 in the vertical direction, retreats the supporting block 28, in the upper side from the required height, by a turning cylinder from a moving route of the connection member 25, mounting the connection member 25 in the both ends of the auxiliary beam 24 on the topmost remaining piled supporting block 28. |
