PURPOSE:To sustain the efficiency of electro-conductivity at a high degree and to reduce the generation of heat to prevent the breakage of a wire electrode making into contact with and passing through an electrical feeder after electric discharge, by subjecting the electrical feeder to an electric discharge coating method in at least a part where the feeder makes into contact with the wire electrode. CONSTITUTION:A wire electrode 3 ascends while it makes into contact with electrical feeders 1, 2 through which voltage pulses is fed to the electrode 3 from an electrical power circuit. Upon electric discharging between the electrode 3 and a workpiece 5, a nonconductive film 4 made of oxide, etc. is formed on the surface of the electrode 3, and the surface becomes jagged. However, since the outer surface 2a of each electrical feeder 2 through which the electrode 3 passes is subjected to an electric discharge coating process so that it becomes a file-like surface, the nonconductive film 4 on the outer surface of the electrode 3 is ground off to expose the conductive surface of the electrode 3 when the latter passes through the outer surface 2a of the feeder 2, making into contact with the latter under a predetermined pressure after electric discharging, and therefore, the contact resistance is reduced, thereby it is possible to sustain the efficiency of power feed to the electrode 3. |
