PURPOSE:To obtain a ventilation fan having a compact construction with a quick response being fabricated at an inexpensive cost and also having a remote- controllable vent duct switching mechanism and an air flow deflection function by using a vent damper driving element formed by a memory alloy and an air flow deflecting element. CONSTITUTION:At the time of stopping the operation of the device, a vent damper 1 shields a vent duct 2 by the dead weight thereof and a bias spring 3. When a power source is turned ON and a ventilation fan is operated, a current is applied from a drive control circuit 19 connected to both ends of a vent damper drive element 18, and power is supplied to the inner part of a vent damper drive element 18. Upon this occasion, an actuating spring 8 contained in the vent damper drive element 18 generates heat itself, and overcome a moment due to the bias spring 3 and the dead weight of the vent damper 1 and contracts to pull down a connecting rod 13. For this reason, the ventilation damper 1 opens the vent duct 2. Further, during a fine weather time, a current is applied to the air flow direction deflecting element 20, while an air flow deflection plate 21 is directed upwardly. |
