This device comprises a convection chamber 1 into which hot air is blown, by means of a blower combined with a heating device, onto the film which travels in the drying chamber, preferably in the vertical direction, under the action of transport rollers. At least one radiation drier 7, 8 is placed upstream of the convection drying chamber 1, through which drier the film to be dried firstly passes, under the action of transport rollers 9 to 12 before reaching the transport rollers 2 of the convection drying chamber 1. This unit allows the drying capacity to be increased whilst reducing energy consumption costs. <IMAGE>
