PURPOSE:To make it possible to rapidly exchange tools, by providing such an arrangement that the space between heads may be rapidly changed into the space between tools upon batch exchange of tools for a multi-spindle head type machine tool. CONSTITUTION:In an NC machine tool for cutting wood materials, plastic materials, etc. a space setting means for setting the interspace between first and second slide bases 8a, 8b is disposed therebetween, and therefore, these bases 8a, 8b are controlled to be associatingly moved in an optionally set space condition (at use-positions). Further, a Y-axis pneumatic cylinder 9 in which the cylinder 9a side is secured to the base 8b while the piston rod 9b side is secured to the base 8a urges the bases 8a, 8b in the direction in which the bases 8a, 8b become remote from each other. A feed screw shaft 10 which is journalled to a bearing cylinder 11 attached to the base 8a side is threadedly engaged with a nut member 12. With this arrangement, the exchange of tools may be rapidly made. |
