The invention relates to a process consisting in cleaning textile coverings (carpets, wall-to-wall carpets) while carrying out dust removal therefrom, by means of a cleaning device in the form of a casing which can be instantaneously adapted to the sucking device of a vacuum cleaner. The device comprises a support A, and an absorbent sheet B attached under the plane base a of the support A and containing a cleaning product C. The support A comprises lateral walls b1 and b2, c1 and c2, d1 and d2, for guiding and holding the sucking device of a vacuum cleaner. The support A comprises on one of its sides a recess e for optional passage of a lateral tube for discharge of the sucked air. The base a of the support A and the absorbent sheet B comprise one or more sucking slots. The aqueous cleaning product C contains one or more surfactants and additives. <IMAGE>
