PURPOSE:To execute preliminary winding of weft in short time thus to save manpower in case of disconnection of weft between weft feeder and main nozzle by automatically winding the end of new weft over the outercircumferential face of storage drum. CONSTITUTION:A weft storage unit 1 will wind the weft 3 over the outer circumferential face of storage drum 41 under static condition then measure the length and storage to stop and release the weft 3 against the circumferential face of drum through a retractable stopper pin 42. Upon disconnection of weft between weft feeders 2a, 2b and main nozzle 43, a guide 6 is stopped at predeter mined angle to suck the weft 3 in the guide 3 pneumatically into a suction pipe 31 at predetermined position. Then while grasping the sucked weft 3, prede termined turn of rotation is applied onto the guide 6 to store predetermined turn of weft 3 preliminarily onto the outercircumferential face of storage drum 41. |
