The invention relates to a hydraulic forging press consisting of an upper beam and a lower beam and of columns which are connected at one end to the upper beam and at the other end to the lower beam, a moving cross beam being guided on the columns, of a protective plate which is connected to the cross beam and is arranged underneath the cross beam, and of a tool-clamping device with release bolts which are arranged on the cross beam and which can each be moved axially counter to a spring force by means of a pressure cylinder, and with tool holders which hold a tool set underneath the cross beam by spring force. In order to provide a hydraulic forging press which makes possible rapid changing of the tool set at the next operation during the forging process while keeping the tool set continuously clamped, it is proposed that a tool table (2) arranged in a manner which allows it to be moved transversely to the press axis be provided on the underside of the moving cross beam (1). <IMAGE>
