PURPOSE:To surely remove metal chips, powder, etc. from lubrication oil with a simple structure, by disposing a magnet for catching magnetic worn chips and powder in lubrication oil in the vicinity of a mechanical seal fitted on a crank shaft in a Stirling engine. CONSTITUTION:A mechanical seal 31 is fitted on one end part of a crank shaft 7 which drives a displacer piston 19 and a power piston 18. Due to rotation of the crank shaft, lubrication oil for an engine is fed from the bottom section 14 of a crank casing to an oil feed pump 25, the inside of the crank shaft, bearings 5, 6 and bearing sections of connecting rods 11 through 13, and enters into a mechanical seal space 28 through an oil feed passage 30, then being returned into the bottom section of the crank casing 1 through an oil passage 29. At this time, worn metal chips and powder contained in lubrication oil 14 is caught by a magnet 31 in the mechanical seal space 28, thereby it is possible to prevent the slide surface from being harmed. |
