Device for the inputting of character data

A device for inputting character data wherein a number of character groups are stored in a character generating means (12). A keyboard (11) has step-forward and step-back keys for selecting a group to be displayed (19), and move-right and move-left keys to move a cursor on the display to select one of the displayed characters. The group and cursor addresses are used to derive a specification of the character.
