For adjusting the ink flow keys of a printing press, the printing plate (13) is scanned along zones corresponding to the ink keys by a scanning head (15) containing an array of photodiodes. The outputs of the photodiodes are supplied to computing means which calculates the proportion of print area in that zone, the result being printed out on a printer (27) or displayed on a visual display unit (29) to enable the operator to make the necessary adjustment to the ink flow keys. |
