1,2-Dihydropyrido[3,4-b]pyrazines are provided which possess antifungal and anticancer activity. The compounds have the structure: wherein x has a value of 1, 2 or 3; R1 is a lower alkyl group, R2 has the meaning as defined in the description and R3 and R4 are either both hydrogen or one is hydrogen and the other is a lower alkyl group.
