The invention concerns an apparatus for applying and pulling forward a tube-shaped protection cover on a toilet seat. A magazine reel 40 is rotationally mounted and can shift axially on a coupling pipe 20, which serves as a pressure coupling between an outside pushbutton and a circuit breaker contact arranged inside the housing of the apparatus. The magazine reel can function freely under all conditions and unhindered by the coupling pipe and does not take part in its axial shifting, when the pushbutton is activated. <IMAGE>
