PURPOSE:To make the revolution of an engine steady to reduce torque fluctuation and therefore to improve drive ability by providing a path to mutually communicate the combustion chambers of both cylinder in a two cycle engine with a pair of cylinders. CONSTITUTION:The first cylinder 11 and the second one 12 are arranged so that crankshaft 13a, 13b may be located parallel to each other in horizontal direction. The both cylinders 11, 12 are mutually ignited every angular interval of 180 deg.. A path 20 communicates the combustion chambers 17a, 17b of the both cylinders 11, 12 each other. The path 20 opens its each end into the combustion chambers 17a, 17b respectively in the direction which causes swirling motion there, and an exhaust gas therefore flows from either being in expansion stroke of the cylinders 11, 12 into another being in compression stroke of them to swirl there. Consequently, irregular combustion is prevented during low speed- light load running, and the engine can secure steady revolution, less torque fluctuation and improved drive ability. |
