The invention relates to a heating skirting as an installation element, with a heating core (5, 25) which extends in the direction of the skirting, is flowed around vertically by air and is adapted to the required heating demand, and which is held by means of bearing members (4) mounted on the wall at a distance and is covered by a covering profile (6) which is likewise fastenable to the bearing members, can be length-adapted to the respective space conditions, forms together with the wall a convection channel which is open at the top and at the bottom and itself functions as a heat radiator, by press contact in the case of heating core (5) or by radiation effect in the case of heating core (25). By means of the removability of said covering profile, the entire installation is accessible from the outside, easy to clean and, by means of the interchangeability of the heating cores (5, 25), individually adaptable to the energy form available. By means of the bearing members (4), the usual continuous rear wall, which by heat conduction also heats up in the lower region which draws in cold air and because of the lack of a temperature difference in relation to the top inhibits lift, can be dispensed with. By virtue of the few and simply constructed components, the invented skirting proves to be inexpensive and simple to mount. <IMAGE>
