PURPOSE:To improve the high-rate discharge characteristic of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery by using a solvent mixture composed of dimethylsulfite and dimethoxyethane as the solvent of the nonaqueous electrolyte and using either lithiumtrifluoromethane sulfonate or lithiumdecachloro decarborate as the solute. CONSTITUTION:A liquid electrolyte is prepared by dissolving, for example, 1mol/l of lithium trifluoromethane sulfonate used as the solute in a solvent mixture prepared by combining dimethyl sulfite and dimethoxyethane in a ratio of 1:1. A positive electrode is made by subjecting a mixture composed of manganese dioxide, carbon powder used as the conductive agent and fluorine resin powder to pressure molding before the molded mixture is thermally treated. A negative electrode with given dimensions is stamped out from a rolled lithium plate. Owing to the above structure, lithium ions smoothly react with the positive active material. Furthermore, the above structure favorably influences the electric conductivity, the viscosity or the dielectric rate of the electrolyte, thereby improving the characteristic of the battery. |
