PURPOSE:To stably obtain an image with high picture element density by always stably performing discharge between electrodes and a recording body by preventing discharge between electrodes, by applying voltage to electrodes so that the potential difference between an electrode for inducing discharge and an electrode inducing no discharge is made smaller than that between the electrode inducing discharge and the recording body. CONSTITUTION:In an image recording system wherein a recording material is allowed to fly from a recording material layer to form a visible image on recording paper, when the potential difference between the potential of an electrode inducing discharge and that of an electrode inducing no discharge is set to V<1>, the potential difference between the potential of the electrode inducing discharge and that of a recording body to V2 and the potential difference between the potential of the electrode inducing no discharge and that of the recording body to V3, voltage is applied so as to form V2>=V1 and V2>=V3. By this method, an image, which is more excellent than the image by a wire dot system in the aspect of image density and more excellent than that by an ink jet system or discharge solid jet system utilizing a nozzle in the aspect of reliability generating no clogging, can be formed. |
