HYDROGEN-ABSORBING ELECTRODE

PURPOSE:To make a hydrogen-absorbing electrode which has great discharge capacity and stable characteristics with minimal variation in discharge capacity at temperatures of within a typical range by using at least two hydrogen- absorbing alloys or their hydrogenation products with different hydrogen equilibrium dissociation pressure levels. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen-absorbing electrode is composed of 30-70wt% of either a hydrogen-absorbing alloy with a hydrogen equilibrium dissociation pressure level at 25 deg.C of 0.5-5 atmospheric pressure or its hydrogenation prod uct and a hydrogen-absorbing alloy with a hydrogen equilibrium dissociation pressure level at 25 deg.C of at least 0.01 atmospheric pressure and less than 0.5 atmospheric pressure. This hydrogen-absorbing electrode has great discharge capacity and stable performance free of any variation in discharge capacity at various temperatures ranging from around 0 deg.C to around 45 deg.C.
