In this correction tape, a heat-meltable correction film containing an inhibitor effective for the colour forming reaction which has taken place in the thermosensitive paper is formed on a tape-like substrate, in particular in the form of a plastic or cellophane film or a paper. This film is preferably polyethylene glycol. During the correction process, the heat-meltable correction film containing the inhibitor and symbol to be corrected is heated via the thermoprinter. The heated area is made to coincide with the area to be corrected. As a result, the inhibitor has a colour-erasing effect in the melted phase. In addition to the colourless erasure trace, a coloured overprint trace may be present with which the desired letter can then be printed out. |
